Executive Artistic Director Cynthia Chavez traveled to Virginia for the Prelude DMV Urban Dance Competition. Cynthia had the privilege of judging the competition and teaching a workshop intensive.
She was able to co-judge with hip-hop dance artists Chris Munar and Greg David. The opportunity to be part of the national series allowed Cynthia to share BDCP's story with emerging hip-hop dance artists from across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.
Prelude Urban Dance Competition's goal is to support the Dance Community with a competition that showcases local & regional hip-hop dance groups, dance companies, and the overall dance community. By training and preparing for this event, Prelude hopes to enrich, strengthen and improve an individual dance and/or dance group. This year's Prelude DMV was co-hosted by Blank Canvas.
